Marcela Durán – The Queen of Tango in Budapest, featuring Endre Szeghalmi

Marcela Durán grew up in Rosario and was already dancing on the floor of Salon Canning in Buenos Aires by 1988. For a decade, she was paired with the great Carlos Gavito. The close embrace that their dance shaped into a signature style is now a cornerstone of tango education worldwide.

She danced in the original Broadway production of Forever Tango and performed at the Teatro Colón. For more than three decades, she has traveled between tango communities teaching workshops, and today she is hailed as a living legend: The Woman of Tango, the Queen of Tango.
